Primal religions project

Your group is responsible for creating its very own primal religion. Use the characteristics studied in class as your guideline. The handout shows what you're supposed to be doing as well as an attached rubric. Don't forget to fill out the daily group evaluations to keep your group on task. That will be part of the package you have to hand in when you present with your group. Remember to hand in any digital content you're going to be using the day before so it can be used as well.

Primal Religions

Today we examined Primal Religions. Primal meaning early or the first, prehistoric religions. Many of the traditions, rituals and practices of primal religions are seen in todays more modern and contemporary religions. The ideas of sacred practices, traditions, places, rites of passage and symbols aren't exclusive to Primal religions, rather, they share a many commonalities to today's world.

What is Reality?

For the first couple of classes we've talked about the concept of  thinking. The act of thought and the process of why we as human beings need to to more of it. Most of us tend to be followers rather than thinkers. Relating that to religion, one must ask questions and start thinking about why we do what we do? Why we believe what we believe? Is it because we have had an 'Ah-hah' moment or because we have been told to think or believe a certain way? What is real? What is not? What is the definition of humanity and who gives it to us. What is life and death? Should we question our religion, and, if we don't do we truly believe what we believe.
We started watching The Matrix as a metaphor of many of the concepts taught in class.
